Supreme Court Ratified Conviction Against Luis Alberto Gil for Interfering in Santrich's Extradition
The Supreme Court of Justice ratified its 54-month prison sentence (four and a half years) against former congressman Luis Alberto Gil Castillo, known as the "One-Eyed Gil", for the crimes of aggravated conspiracy to commit crimes, bribery, and influence peddling. The decision is based on his illegal intervention to try to stop the extradition of alias "Jesús Santrich", a former FARC leader, through bribes to a prosecutor of the JEP.
