Cecilia Porras: a bridge to the future
I left the inauguration of the Bilingual Educational Institution Cecilia Porras with my chest swelling with pride. More than an official event, it was the sensation of feeling Cecilia come alive in that space. It was gratifying to find her works adorning the walls of the corridors and to see the famous story 'Here all that's missing is a clown painted behind a door' recreated: that text Gabo wrote for the Museum full of anecdotes he uses to tell about his bonds of friendship with Cecilia, Grau, and Obregón. The chronicle of a real era, told with his unique sensitivity, which places us on the journey of our institution until we reach the Almacén de Galeras, where it now beats strongly. A story where Cecilia's work is the protagonist. Seeing the students recreate the clown on the door is proof that her legacy is a living and transforming force that has already begun to permeate the students' environment.
