Ecopetrol assumes operation of the Gibraltar field gas plant after contract with private company ends

Ecopetrol now directly operates the Gibraltar field gas plant after a 15-year BOMT contract with Gas Gibraltar S.A.S. concluded.
The plant processes approximately 27 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.
The processed gas supplies the departments of Santander and Norte de Santander, as well as the Barrancabermeja Refinery.
The transition occurred without operational interruptions, maintaining existing technical parameters and supply continuity.
The Gibraltar field is part of the Sirirí block and integrates with the Piedemonte Llanero strategy, which contributes about 50% of Colombia's natural gas consumption.
