Colombia Announces Million-Dollar Investment to Mitigate El Niño Phenomenon Damage
Due to the high probability of the El Niño phenomenon arriving during the second half of 2026 and the early months of 2027, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development activated a package of anticipatory measures for 146 billion pesos in 421 municipalities, based on technical reports from the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (Ideam), the General Maritime Directorate (Dimar), and the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (Ungrd).
