New device created in Medellín will help speed up the treatment of leishmaniasis

In a joint effort between a group of researchers from the Metropolitan Technological Institute ITM, the University of Antioquia, the Pontifical Bolivarian University, and the company Kinetics Systems SAS, an innovative portable system has been developed to improve the quality of life for those suffering from cutaneous leishmaniasis, an infectious parasitic disease transmitted by the bite of small mosquitoes, which causes different reactions on the skin such as ulcers or nodules.
