About a Little Peace

Estación Descanso, where those who stop being informed daily and do it weekly arrive (thus avoiding being hammered), those who admit there are more important tasks than being frightened (they do useful work), those who return to their library and travel through time and meaningful reflections by reading a good book; also arriving are those who believe and review their beliefs to find reasons to live with others, those who have returned to talking with their family and friends discovering safe spaces anew, those who look at nature and are amazed by it and the way it works, those who have returned to painting and writing to know they are sensitive, those who walk and rejoice in what they find along the way (the good curious ones), those who converse by listening to the other and bring logic to what they say, those who know that one must stop to situate oneself in reality and not in fantasy, those who first sing and after singing solve problems, those who organize their spaces and thus know what they have and what it is for. And well, these people rest and are nourished with good ideas, which today seem to be very scarce.

About a Little Peace

TL;DR

  • Estación Descanso is a place for people who choose weekly reflection over daily news, engage in useful work, read books, review beliefs, converse with loved ones, appreciate nature, create art, and practice active listening.
  • True peace, as defined by Spinoza, is the permanent presence of justice, not merely the absence of war, and is crucial for individual and collective well-being.
  • Periods of peace have historically led to significant human achievements in art, science, and understanding of nature.
  • Negative emotions like envy, greed, and resentment are destructive to peace, leading to negative consequences.
  • Human rituals can be moments of peace and community, but the human creation of 'evil' can disrupt this.
  • Finding peace is essential for a secure and dignified human existence.
