One of the San Diego Mosque Attackers Stole Three Guns from His Mother's House

San Diego, California (USA) police authorities stated this Monday that one of the teenagers involved in the shooting that left three dead at the city's largest mosque stole three firearms from his mother's home prior to the incident. This information was revealed at a press conference by San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl, who explained that the 17-year-old suspect's mother alerted authorities after noticing her son, his vehicle, and several weapons stored in the family home were missing. According to Wahl, the fact that the teenager took three weapons led investigators to believe he could pose a broader threat, which raised the risk assessment level during the search operation. Although the police did not specify if it was the same suspect, they also detailed that one of them left a suicide note found by the mother, in which he made comments about racial superiority. One of the attackers is reportedly linked to Madison High School, located 1.6 kilometers from the mosque, according to investigation progress which is now in a phase of obtaining warrants to inspect the teenagers' residences. For his part, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, called the event "terrible" and said they would offer a briefing on the matter by FBI Director Kash Patel. The three fatalities have been identified and their families notified, but the police detailed that it will take a few days to finalize the process to make their names public.
