Daniel Ortega appeared in public this Monday to close a marathon day in honor of the 131st anniversary of the birth of Augusto C. Sandino. As night fell in Managua, the dictator got out of his armored Mercedes Benz - which, at 80 years old, he still drives - and, with a slow and dragging step, accompanied by Rosario Murillo and guarded by police, advanced to the mausoleum of the Sandinista hero, in the historic center of the capital.
