Families of air accident victims perform ancestral farewell ritual in Bolivia
Relatives of some of those who died in the military plane crash, which more than a week ago left 24 dead and dozens injured in Bolivia, held an ancestral farewell ceremony this Monday so that, according to Andean belief, their souls can rest in peace. The ceremony took place in the vicinity of El Alto International Airport, a city near La Paz, where a Hercules aircraft belonging to Transportes Aéreos Bolivianos (TAB), a cargo division of the Bolivian Air Force (FAB), lost control and skidded nearly a kilometer off the runway.
