Táchira is consolidating itself as a tourist destination nationally and internationally
The vice president of the Tourism Chamber of Táchira state, Belmar Carrascal, pointed out that the entity 'was not an attractive and desirable tourist destination', but currently, 'it is already consolidating nationally and internationally'. Likewise, he commented that normally, Táchira has 'hotel occupancy between 30% and 50%, but the numbers have been improving and when there are high seasons like this (Easter), we go up to approximately 50%-70%'. He added that 'obviously there are places with 100% occupancy as they are more commercial', while noting that the religious sector drives tourism in the locality. Belmar Carrascal stated that the Tourism Chamber of Táchira state helped facilitate the entry and circulation of Colombian vehicles in the Venezuelan entity. In this sense, he added that they also worked to allow Colombian citizens to enter Venezuela only with their ID, without the need for a passport.
