Venezuela remains among the most restrictive countries for press freedom, according to Reporters Without Borders
Venezuela moved up one position in the last year in the World Press Freedom Classification of Reporters Without Borders (RSF) and was ranked 159 out of 180 countries, according to the entity's annual report published on April 30. The organization reported that Venezuela remains one of the countries with the worst results in the region, due to uncertainty about guarantees for the press despite the release of journalists recorded in early 2026.
