Hogar Bambi: 30 years rebuilding the right to a safe home
Thirty years ago, the future of thousands of Venezuelan children began to change through a project within the classrooms of the Metropolitan University, which started as a graduation thesis by founder Erika Spillmann, motivated by a shared sensitivity with her father about child neglect in Venezuela. This proposal went from being an academic idea to becoming a reality. Today, that small student project is Hogar Bambi, a complex of five houses in the San Bernardino urbanization that has served as a refuge and family for more than 5,000 children who needed a second chance.
