Caracas Stock Exchange Index Rose 2,647% in Bolivars or 303.32% in Dollars in the First Quarter
The Caracas Stock Exchange Index (IBC) ended the first quarter of 2026 with an interannual variation of 2,647% or 6,118.69 nominal points in absolute terms, representing an increase of 303.32%, calculated in dollars at the official exchange rate. In the Variable Income market, a total of $56,512,867.96 was traded, an increase of 592.82%, compared to the same period of the previous year. This figure represents 83.53% of the total traded in shares during 2026. For its part, the Other Goods market reached $116,705,405.35, which is equivalent to 53.50% of what was registered last year. While the Fixed Income market reported an increase of 45.74%, at the close of the first three months of the year with a total amount traded of $17,657,747.58. In general, the Caracas Stock Exchange closed the first quarter of 2026, with a total traded amount of $190,876,020.89, that is, an increase of $44,659,160.78 (+30.5%), compared to the same period of 2025. Operations at the stock exchange institution are carried out in bolivars, to facilitate the comparative analysis of the market, in this note they were expressed in dollars at the official exchange rate.
