Fevearroz: Producers face crisis due to low prices and difficulties placing harvests
The Venezuelan Rice Federation (Fevearroz) warned that producers in Guárico are going through a crisis caused by two factors: the low prices at which they must sell and the lack of silo capacity to receive harvests. The president of the guild, José Luis Pérez, warned that this represents a critical scenario that jeopardizes profitability in the sector. He explained that companies that financed the cereal's production are only receiving the rice equivalent to the loan amount and that due to lack of space in their silos, they refuse to receive the surplus.
