US and Venezuela hired auditing firms for the use of financial resources
The governments of the United States and Venezuela have hired auditing firms to ensure "tranquility and impartiality for all" regarding the use of the South American country's financial resources, the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) reported this Monday. "That the republic's resources are audited by external consultants gives us peace of mind. The country must have full confidence that the resources are going where they should go and arriving where they should arrive," said the president of the BCV, Luis Pérez González, cited in a press release. The information was given in a meeting with representatives of public and private banks, the Venezuelan Banking Association, the Superintendency of Institutions of the Banking Sector of Venezuela (SUDEBAN), and the Vice-Ministry of Digital Economy, Banking, Insurance and Securities, according to the Central Bank's text. Pérez González did not offer further details about the hiring of these auditing firms, but maintained that monetary and exchange rate policy instruments are under constant review. "We will make decisions when deemed appropriate," he added.
