Conservation of sea turtles
Ensuring the conservation of marine ecosystems and biodiversity, the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity, through the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, MARENA.

- MARENA presented the results of the "Junt@s Conservamos nuestras Tortugas Marinas" campaign for 2025-2026.
- The campaign focused on monitoring, conservation, environmental education, and sustainable tourism.
- 150,015 sea turtles were protected.
- 723,304 sea turtle hatchlings were released.
- Releases occurred in nesting beaches and key sites such as Refugios de Vida Silvestre La Flor, San Juan del Sur, Refugio de Vida Silvestre Río Escalante Chacocente, Playa Salamina, Reserva Natural Isla Juan Venado, Reserva Natural Estero Padre Ramos, Laguna de Perlas, and Corn Island.
- The event was held at the Olof Palme Convention Center and involved 200 participants, including community members and representatives from various institutions.
- Strategic allies included Municipalities, the Nicaraguan Army, Juventud Sandinista, and Movimiento Ambientalista Guardabarranco.
