Venezuelan livestock betting on technification and export for planned growth
The vice president of the National Federation of Livestock Farmers of Venezuela (Fedenaga), José Labrador, stated that it is fundamental to guarantee the national meat supply. He also commented that Venezuelan livestock farmers have seen and understood that having more cattle in less space, being more efficient, and accessing international markets is a business, because "we have income in foreign currency." He indicated that this will develop the meat industry and further strengthen the existing, weakened dairy industry, due to a lack of investment. Once sanitary certification is obtained, there will be investment security in the agricultural sector. José Labrador added that "people and national and foreign capital will place much more investment in the agricultural sector, and that will bring greater economic stability." He also expressed on Unión Radio that Venezuela is seeing new people investing in the agricultural sector and seeking this form of business: "growth can be significant, it must be significant, but it has to be planned."
