In April, inflation in Venezuela stood at 18.04% in bolivars and 13.61% in dollars, according to Cedice

The Cedice Libertad Public Spending Observatory (OGP) team calculated that inflation in April 2026 increased by 18.04% in bolivars and 13.61% in dollars, driven by the cost of food, services, transportation, and personal care items. This means that by April 2026, the average consumption of the Cedice Basket, comprising 61 goods and services for a family of three, reached Bs. 783,419.66 and $1,616.14, representing a 13.61% increase in April. This level of consumption requires earning 12.4 full salaries of Bs. 63,146.2, or slightly more than three full salaries per week. In April 2026, Valencia was the most expensive city in the country with a Cedice Basket cost of 820,477.87 bolivars and $1,692.64. For Maracaibo, the same basket reached Bs. 799,687.69 and US$1,649.59. In Caracas, the figure was Bs. 730,093.51 ($1,506.21). Regarding annualized inflation, April 2025-April 2026, Cedice reported that it was 1,362.69% in bolivars and 176.41% in dollars.
