More than half of adults suffer from toe deformities, what to do?

TL;DR

  • Digital deformities in adult feet are more frequent in women (60% of cases).
  • Nail conditions are the most frequent foot pathology (75% of cases).
  • Mallet toe causes downward curvature at the joint closest to the nail, often due to tight shoes and muscle imbalances.
  • Hammer toe involves abnormal bending at the proximal interphalangeal joint.
  • Both conditions can cause pain, inflammation, and calluses.
  • In mild cases, treatment includes wide-toed shoes, custom corrective devices, and exercises to restore muscle balance.
